We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you involved in this project. We are overwhelmed with its success! With your help, we collected over 1,300 books, 2 flutes, and 1 guitar, plus several books bags, and assorted school supplies, for Jamaican children. So far, these desperately needed items have been distributed to the following schools: Esher Primary School, Pell River Primary School, Green Island High, and Hanover Parish Library. The copy of "Gray's Anatomy" has been presented to a medical student in Kingston, who could not afford to purchase her own copy. We should all be so proud of what we have accomplished! Kudos to all of you!!!
We challenge everyone to make the 2008 Jamaica Book Drive even bigger and better! We are taking a tip from Gary Bowden, and placing a challenge to other musicians to bring along a guitar, or any other instrument, to play while in Jamaica, then leave it behind as a donation for next year's Book & Supplies Drive.
