Kenny Gradney's latest project: Steel Toed Slippers
Steel Toed Slippers has finished a new CD titled “Here Comes.” The album, co-produced by Kenny Gradney and eight-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist Johnny Lee Schell (Bonnie Raitt), is currently in post production and will be out on the streets November 2011. Six of the eleven tracks feature Kenny on bass. Nick Maury officially joined the band as STS Bass player mid recording. Nick came to Steel Toed Slippers as a referal from Pete Griffin, Zappa Plays Zappa bassist. Rumors also have it that Kenny Gradney may be seen on stage with Steel Toed Slippers as a special guest in the near future. The CD project, recorded at Johnny Lee Schell's Studio, the same place Little Feat currently is recording its new studio album, will be mixed by legendary producer/engineer, Ed Cherney.
