Sidemen: Long Road To Glory

Lowell George and I used to talk about the connection between things when we first met in the summer of 1969. The search for that connection is what made Little Feat what it was and still is. Where does the discovery of a work of an artist take you, add to your life, what are the influences that lead you to the work of others. Being inquisitive is where it all starts. Scott Rosenbaum, who directed Long Distance Love, shared with me his film Sidemen: Long Road To Glory. It highlights a friend of ours, guitarist Hubert Sumlin who played with Howlin’ Wolf, in addition to drummer Willie ‘Big Eyes’ Smith and blues pianist Pinetop Perkins, who played with Muddy Waters. I urge everyone to please consider pre-ordering this film by following the provided link. This should be in everyone’s library who cares about the Blues.
